XP Pro SP3, well updated

My laptop's extension monitor (new Sanyo TV with DB 15 jack) connects via a
SVGA DB 15 cable and seems to display everything I can throw at it except
the Windows Media Player's actual picture.

Do all SVGA monitors have the same problem?

Open WMP
Tools>Options>Peformance tab
Video Acceleration>Advanced button
Video Acceleration settings>
Clear the checkbox for "Use Overlays"
Click Apply then OK
