security center not able to download windows defender updates

when i try to download updates for windows defender security center is not
able to download the updates .
moreover when i contacted the microsoft site for for solution of error code
80246008 i was told to run the file regsvr32qmgr.dll .
i tried doing it but there is an error coming it says
the module "qmgr.dll" was loaded but the entry point dllregisterserver was
not fouund .
make sure that "qmgr.dll"is a valid dll or ocx file and then try again.
so what should i do .

Could mean the file is corrupt or you have more than one file on the computer.

Try specifying the full path:
regsvr32 %windir%\System32/qmgr.dll

no still its not coming up showing the same message its asking me to try again
