Security credentials not passed on by IE 6.0 sp2

I need to go to a secured page. Prior to sp 2 the syntax
http://uid/directory worked fine, now I get a syntax error.
The above syntax is generated by my provider inode.at after authentication,
in order to access my own pages they host. I read articles 821814 and 834489
in KB. They suggest Q831167, but this applies to sp1.
What shall I do?
It didn't help to register domain.ext as an intranet domain in privacy
settings
