Is there anyway to set a certain program to open without all of the windows
that Vista insists on presenting me with. You'd think that after I open a
program a couple of times, an intuitive program would learn that I *want* it
to open and that it's not a hazard to the system. I have a couple of
programs that no matter how I set permissions, the darn computer always asks
me if I opened the program, if I trust it, and if I want to open it.

it's very irritating, in fact, the most irritating thing I've found about
Vista so far.

The solution to this one can be found here:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...windows-vista/

or

http://tiny.cc/4b65g

Thanks to Personal Computer World uk magazine (Feb 2009) for pointing me in
the right direction to find this on the web.

Thank you. It worked. Took a few minutes to figure out some of the stuff,
but it worked. I'll have to save the page so I can find it if this comes up
again. It's a shame that you have to jump through so many hoops just to run
a program that you use frequently.

If that's too hard, find TweakUAC and obtain, install, and use it.

I found that much simpler :-)
