Security Setting prevent Windows Update

I tried to run Windows update on a WinXP Home machine and system keep displaying security problem prevent me from running the update (not even the scan for update appear).
No Matter how low the security level I set for IE, I got the same problem. I also suspect this PC is infected by isass related virus.

I have tried to use ad-aware 6.0 to clean spy ware / adware and have tried to use NAv from Symantec with current defination 28/7/04 to remove virus.
After that I use netstat command and find that the system is connected to one interface only.
After browsing internet for several minute, the browsing hang. And I observe a lot of internet traffic.
Then I tried netstat again and found that the system is connecting to a lot of host.
