Security Update CD no good?

I am reinstalling XP pro to clear up problem with localhost and FrontPage.
I am dial-up user and have gotten CDs from Microsoft in the past. I have
the Microsoft Windows Security Update CD with the February 2004 date. I was
going to start installing updates but it says that the WSA is out of date
and that I need to go to the website. Then the part for installation of
updates gives me a page error.

The reason I got the CD is because I am dial-up and updates can take hours
especially with ISP connection problems. I am grateful that Microsoft has
restart points but CDs are much better.

Guess the CD is no good now. Is there another CD?

What you need since you have Windows XP is the Service Pack 2 CD, #1 on this
page:

I have a Windows XP Service Pack 2 CD but is this one out of date too? All
it says on CD with Service Pack 2 with Advanced Security Technologies and to
share with a friend or family member.

What do I do about the window that says
Please insert the Compact Disc labeled 'Windows XP Professional Service Pack
1 CD' into your CD-ROM drive(D and the click OK.

Susan;
You insert The Windows CD that was used to install Windows on the computer.
It is not looking for the SP-1 CD, it is looking for your Windows CD.

Thanks for explaining MS terminology. I have reinstalled XP Pro with Dell CD
provided in December of 2003. I have the SP-2 CD. Can I just start with the
SP-2 CD or am I supposed to install some updates between when I got the Dell
Windows Reinstallation CD and the Windows SP-2 CD?

Susan;
There is no need to install any updates before installing SP-2.
So start with the SP-2 CD.
Then after SP-2 is installed, install any remaining Critical Updates through
Windows Update
