Security Update KB890175 Error 80070003

A few days ago, I posted the following. I still have found NO SOLUTION to the
problem described!

Maybe someone can help.

"I have Windows XP Home Edition SP2 Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.070803-2158: Service Pack 2)
My system is configured to have automatic downloads of updates but
installation only takes place with my prompting
I downloaded above security update but it failed to install: I tried it 4
times. Over the past year I have installed 60 updates and have never had any
errors/problems.

Does anyone have a solution?

I have solved the problem by installing manually the update.

Thank you very much, Bernard, for your help! As you suggested, I installed
the update manually by searching for the update in the knowledge base and it
WORKED!
