Security Update KB899587

I keep getting a message that this security update has been downloaded and
ready to install from Automatic Updates, but if fails to install. Just
finished having to run a repair installation of Win XP Pro two nights ago and
have installed over 75 updates since then getting everything back together.
This is the only update that will not install from either Automatic Updates
or from Microsoft Update Website. Anyone have a clue?

I get a successful install. What I think happened is that MS Update does not
know the new file signature so it cannot tell if the update occurred. Since
this amounts to a kernel update, I'm NOT impressed! If you go to custom
install you can then choose not to show the update. That's the only way I can
stop the yellow badge.
