Security update (KB912919)

I just installed this update, and I can no longer send messages to people on
my MSN messenger 7.5 list. All I get is an error"the following message could
not be sent".

and when I went to add/remove programs to take out the update, it wasn't on
the list.

Somebody please HELP!!

In addition to David's excellent information, if the update was not
showing in Add/Remove Progams as " Security Update for Windows XP
(KB912919)", then it never installed properly.
Please check the System Event log for an error message.
Right click My Computer, choose Manage. Click the plus sign next to
Event Viewer, click on System. Under Type, look for an Error with the
Source being NTServicePack or Windows Update Agent.
Please post back with what you found.
