Security update KB929969 fails to install

I have been trying to install the security update KB929969 with out success.
Each time I try, the installer says it was unable to in the the update.
There are no specific error messages given.
Is there any way to have this update installed??

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type : %windir%\windowsupdate.log
and then click OK.

Scroll down towards the bottom for the latest entries to locate the error code(s)
associated with the latest failed attempt to download/install. If appropriate copy and
paste the error codes into this thread so someone may be able to assist you. On the other
hand, you may be able to find the error code and other suggestions by searching the
Newsgroup.

Also check Windows folder for file called KB******.log (****** = number of update ie
KB929969) and post the contents of the failed update.
This may provide further clues as to why the update failed.

You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an update from
Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update Services
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910336/en-us

When searching for available updates on the Update site, you see the 0x80070002 or
0x80070003 error
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsu...=en&IsMu=False


Also some have had success with

1. Stop the Automatic Updates service, clear the contents of the DataStore and Download
folders, and restart the Automatic Updates service.
Stop the Automatic Updates Service.
Click Start, Choose Run, In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Select Properties.
Under Service status, click Stop.
Click OK.

2. Delete the Contents of the DataStore and Download folders.
Click Start, Choose Run, In the Run box, type %windir%\SoftwareDistribution
Click OK.
Delete the contents of both the DataStore and Download folders

3. Start the Automatic Updates Service
Click Start, Choose Run, In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Select Properties.
Under Service status, click Start.
Click OK.

I was able to resolve this issue myself.
I searched for and found the executable that windows update was trying to
install
and ran it manually, this time it ran successfully.

Where did you search for the exe? What is the exe called? The continued
attempts by update to install this thing are driving me mad. pls help.

Search for the security update by its name KB929969*
Look for the executable, go to that fold and run it.

Do this by going to START > Search > All Files and Folders > All or Part of
the File Name - Type in KB929969 ( or whatever ) and click on search.
