I have installed VS2005, and when I run Windows Update afterwards, it
downloads the 'Security Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 (KB937060)',
but this fails to install, with the errorcode 0x66A.
I haven't been able to find any solutions, and running the install again
gives the same result (tried it 6 times, including a reboot inbetween).

You do not say where you have looked for a solution or how you tried to
download this KB or from where you tried the download.
The error code looked familiar(short, easy to remember) and it appeared over
the last two to three months in connection with .Net Framework updates??
under different KB numbers.
I assume you are running WINXP SP2?

I looked at support.microsoft.com, both for the error code 0x66A, and for
the hotfix (KB937060).
Yes, I'm running WinXP SP2.
Now I searched Google, and here I found an article, saying that if I have
..NET 3.5 installed, I should just ignore it.
I have .NET 3.0 installed, not 3.5.

You have not said how you have tried to get this KB installed - there is
more than one way to skin a ........not one way works for all.
As you are using that web interface to post, have you searched within that
to find issues re MVS - I don't use that discussion group, so do not know my
way around it, but just one search has produced the below.
There is an issue, which has yet not shown in this group, but most seem to
be about KB937061 which I believe is the Vista update??

One reply in this group from MSFT
Copied from post:-
Hi,
If you have VS 2005 SP1 present but the Crystal Reports feature is not
present, MS07-052 is re-offered.

Customers are protected and are not at risk to this vulnerability

We will be updating the detection on Microsoft Update, customers that have
already installed this update need to take no action. We are working to
resolve this issue and it should be fixed shortly

Thank you

Eric[MSFT]

It would seem that the best solution for the moment is to hide this update
in WU Home Hidden Folder, until a fix is issued or you could try the MS
How to troubleshoot Windows Update or Microsoft Update when you are
repeatedly offered an update
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=910339

Windows Update already installed
http://www.updatexp.com/windows-upda...installed.html

Windows Update says the update is still needed

I wish you luck
