Well I appreciate the reply, but unfortunatly I know nothing about computers
and registries. I will just stop XP secuity downloads. That shoud take care
of the problem.

| If the Msxml4.dll file is locked, the file may not be updated when
| you apply security update 936181. To work around this issue, use
| the following commands to uninstall Msxml4.dll:
|
| (1) MsiExec.exe /uninstall {37477865-A3F1-4772-AD43-AAFC6BCFF99F} /passive
| (2) Del %windir%\system32\msxml4.dll

You'll have to copy and paste the (1) command line without the "(1)"
under "Run" in the Start menu and hit [Enter] or click on "OK".
Afterwards enter "cmd" without the quotations into "Run" and hit [Enter]
again. A Command Prompt windows open in which you enter the (2) command
line and hit the [Enter] key again.

Finally you may whish to simply install the manual downloaded KB936181
which reinstalls MSXML4 *including* the security update then.

Manual download for KB936181:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...8-185639ba2807

Nope, that will leave your system with a security hole open. You
really don't want to do that, trust me.

What we need is a method that works - your method doesn't work because the
file is locked and cannot be deleted. What is the answer?

Even after running
MsiExec.exe /uninstall {37477865-A3F1-4772-AD43-AAFC6BCFF99F} /passive
?

> What is the answer?
