Security Update for Outlook 2003 (KB892843)

I have tried to install this update several times and I keep getting the
message update not installed... error code: 0x80070643

Can someone help with this please..

You receive error 0x80070643 when you are installing Office 2003 Updates. Updates fail to install
because ose service is disabled or cannot be started. Applicable Office versions: Office 2003

You receive an "Error 80070643" error message when you try to update Office 2003 by using Software
Update Services

I've been having this same issue and NOTHING has resolved it.
Re-installing Office is not an option at this point.

Anymore ideas?

I'm having the same issue. OSE service is not disabled; it is set to manual.
I tried another suggestion in this section and that didn't work. I don't
want to use another mail client but if I can't fix the security problem in
Outlook I don't see any other option.

JUst reinstalled after trying everthing else suggested. Now I have updated
successfully.
