For several updates, the above has not updated. Therefore it is always listed
whenever I am notified of other updates.

Why does this occur, and is there any way I can resolve the situation.

1. Uninstall PPViewer 2003 via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.

2. Download/install PPViewer 2007:

And *save* the installation file, PowerPointViewer.exe, as subsequent
security updates will need it to install properly. Suggest you create a
folder in MyDocuments for it and any other Office Viewer installation files.

Drat! I wish I'd known I should've saved the installation file. If
PPViewer is updated again I guess I'll have to go looking for it?

Is this the PP Viewer 2007 ? If yes, I don't know if the installation
source file is required in order for updates to install.
You could try downloading and saving another copy of the installer and
move it to the location it originally ran from but ...
I've never tried that and who actually keeps track of from where stuff
is installed from ... except a few geeks like me <w>

Many thanks, MowGreen. The version was 2007, which I used to replace
PPViewer 2003, which, in turn, could never be successfully upgraded with the
MS recent large release. As I think I mentioned earlier somewhere, as soon
as the 2007 version was successfully downloaded and installed MS notified me
of an upgrade available for it.

Things seem to be functioning smoothly now.

Thank you. This particular update was included in a group of six received
last Sunday. It installed cleanly as did all the others.

My point was that you could've install PPV 2007 SP1 from the git-go, Ken.
