I have six critical updates which I cannot download and which automatic
update cannot download either. Auto update shield appears every time I
connect to internet, but disappears after seconds, failing to download
anything.
Tried manually downloading, but I.E.7 cannot display the critical Windows or
Microsoft update pages - can see all other pages OK on the Microsoft site and
other sites. Then tried manually downloading from Microsoft Download Centre
- can open that page. No joy - manually clicking on relevant product update
links produces same result = IE cannot display the page. Got to validation
page with some, but same result whenever tried to validate. Tried a small
work around by right clicking on "start download" and from the drop down menu
selected "Save Target As". This successfully opened the relevant dialogue
box with the executable download. Selected 'Run'. However, every time
another dialogue box appears over the top of the executable download box,
advising: "... Internet Explorer cannot download KB ........ from
microsoft.com. A connection with the server could not be established".
I then opened Windows Help Support from Start Up menu and clicked on "Send
Feedback to Microsoft". A new blank page opened with a single line of text:
"Checking your connection ...". Pause. The new text appeared : "Connecting
...." Pause. Finally an alert-style message appeared in red :
"The page you are trying to view cannot be displayed because the server it
resides on does not respond. Try again later."
I have been trying for more than a week!
Same thing happens if it click on "Contact Us" - IE cannot display the page.
Everywhere else all over the internet have no problem with downloads or
opening pages.
I would really appreciate it if Microsoft could kindly look into this and
advise as soon as possible, whether it is able to rectify this problem from
its end. I note other posters are also experiencing problems with security
updates. If you wish to contact me direct, my email is:

Many thanks.
