Leroy ... thanks - it did download, but no install - same error code and
something about a Password. It told me to review the read file - could not
find it, but did find a txt log as follows. (all the others are in the same
update file in chrono order). Hope this helps - any other suggestions.

PA Bear, you are all over these boards and all you can do is give a canned
answer to issues that people post. Dont you think one of the first sites
these poor soulds go to for help is Microsoftopoly? I mean come on, I have
seen the same **** poor response from you at least 10 times. We know we can
go to the site for help, but the reason that we dont is because their help is
about as good as your broken record response.

People, I am a real worls SA and I am currently working on this issue. If I
find a fix for it, I will post it on this board. I am running 2003 R2, SQL
2000 SP3 and getting the same BS message about this retarded update as all of
you.

Try this below from Johnnycat on 8/19/2008

Not sure of your configuration, etc., but I had the same issue and the way I
resolved it was to go into services and change the MSSQL$SBSMONITORING from
disabled to manual and this allowed the update to be installed. Then again,
it might have just been a fluke, but that's all I did and the update
installed after the change. I hope it works for you.

Click Start, typing “services.msc” in the run line for a shortcut to Services.

Setting MSSQL$SBSMONITORING to a manual start and the restarting the
update process worked perfectly for me.

Many thanks
