I have Window XP SP2. Window update keeps trying to install this update and
keeps failing. I have Windows Media Player 11.0 running fine. I've read in
this discussion group a few fixes but none of them works. It keeps coming
back. I've cleared the DataStore and download file but nothing works. When it
fails it gives me Error Code: 0x8007F00C. Does anyone know how to push this
update through?

I have the same problem. The yellow update shield won't go away, even though
this update was installed on my system last December. I have had to
technicians at Microsoft try to fix it, and after a month, nothing is
changed. If you or anyone else has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Yes. I had to go into Add/Remove Programs, take out the existing update that
keeps trying to update. Then I let Microsoft Update run again, and this time
it was successful. Now that's fixed, my 'unexpandable' window boxes cut off
text on the right side, and the bottom. Just one thing after another.
Hope this helps.
