Yes, I've got exactly the same thing. I've recently installed WMP11.
However, when I checked the Windows Media Player folder in Program
Files, there, sure enough, is WMP6.4, as well as WMP11. I assume it was
there before, and that the WMP11 didn't come bundled with 6.4 for
nostalgia's sake, but who knows?!

Anyone any ideas?

From the FAQ section's *I have Media Player 11:*
"While Windows Media Player 11 is not vulnerable, Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Professional
x64 Edition, Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64
Edition will still have Windows Media Player 6.4 installed on the system for backwards compatibility."

It is critical, Antioch, due to the pwn thy box flaw assessment.
Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer 2.0.1 led me to MS06-078.

Baseline Security Analyzer led me right to it. See my response to antioch for
a link to the tool - give the updates a squinty-eyed look before accepting them.

Thank you Michael - that looks useful.
Will take a look at it when I have an hour or two - there are a lot of links
from the first page.
I think some will revert to the KB's original download site which I have had
a quick look at.

The update replaces 2 .dll files that are present in WINDOWS\system32 no
matter which v. of WMP is installed. I declined it at first thinking
this has to be wrong. It ain't. It installed and was not reoffered.

Only Vista doesn't have the vulnerability and doesn't get this patch.
After staring at the DVD for months, a couple days ago I finally put
the RC1 Vista beta into an upper partition so it dual boots with XP.

XP's version of minsweeper has a better appearance than Vista's;
Solitaire versions are roughly equal, but XP has no competition for
Vista's chess game - I had a won game going and got checkmated.
