Got error code 0x800703EE and it is not in the solutions list. Had antivirus,
firewall and internet explorer security turn off or down to lowest level.
Also allowed popups

Is Panda the installed antivirus ?

Since I have installed Panda Antivirus Platinum Internet Security 2005 I
cannot perform Windows update, what should I do?
http://www.pandasoftware.com/com/Support/card?NRNODEGUID={81911EB1-FDBC-45A1-998B-1B92386E7D13}&NRCACHEHINT=Guest&IdIdioma=2&id=2123 4&ref=SopMonPlan

Since I have installed Panda Titanium Antivirus 2005 I cannot perform
Windows update, what should I do?

If not, copy&paste the last 30 or so lines of the WindowsUpdate.log
located in the WINDOWS directory (folder) into your next post.

MowGreen - Thanks for the advice, but I do not have Panda! But I got an
answer from MS Update personnel that solved the problem. Here it is: The
issue may be caused by the following factors:
1. The installation is affected by some third-party security software.
2. The downloaded installation file is corrupted.

In order to narrow down the cause of our issue, let’s refer to the following
steps:
Step 1 Reload the Update temporary folders
One possible cause is that the temporary folder for Windows Update contains
corrupted files. Let’s erase all the files there to get the system clean.
1. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following
command in the opened window.

Net stop WuAuServ
2. Click Start, Run, type: %windir% and press Enter.
3. In the opened folder, rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to Sdold.
4. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following
command in the opened window.

Net start WuAuServ
If it does not work, let’s refer to the following steps to manually download
and install the two updates in Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, any security software
will not be launched.

Thanks for posting the fix, Allen. File corruption is getting to be as
big an issue as political corruption
