Hi Bill,
No need te remove Norton AV.
Just open Norton AV and select "Norton AV" under "options".
Under "miscellaneous" (at bottom of left side menu) select "various" and
uncheck the option "how do you want to protect your product ? " / engage
security for your Symantec product. (text could deviate, I am translating
from the Dutch version)
This should solve your problem with system restore. Please note that this
solution only works for future restore points. All old restore points made
while Norton AV was "protected" should be considered as useless.
