Security updates 10/12/05 cause file/print sharing issues

I have systems with Win 2000 pro and XP Home on them.
After the updates on 10/12/05 my Win 2000 pro and XP Home computers can not
communicate to each other.
The win 2000 can share with win 2000 but not with XP
the XP Home can share with XP Home but not with Win 2000

Any Help would be great! I need my XP Home to print on my Win 2000 computer.
Of course my wife has the XP Home and can not print.....

If you are operating with a network type system, you must download to each
system separately or specify that it apply to all systems if you are logged
in as administrator.

I am not sure what you mean. I spent an hour on the phone with microsoft.
If I disable my Norton anti-virus it works. I am not happy about unloading
my norton Antivirus Version 2003.

My guess is that Norton A/V also includes firewall software that is
blocking the traffic?
