Hello:
I am running XP with Service Pack 3 and IE 8.
On 8/12 I downloaded and installed (13) mostly Security Updates to my PC.
After the installation I restarted my system as prompted. Since this action
I am receiving the the following error message" Windows Installer" "Solution
Center
The feature you are trying to use is on a CD ROM or other removable disk
that is not available. Insert the Solution disk and" Click OK"
Of course I do not have a disk! This problem was not occurring before the
latest updates.
Any suggestions on which of the 13 downloads is causing the problem.

Thanks

Hello BJ,

Call Microsoft pss. In the U.S. or Canada 1-866-pcsafety is
a toll-free call, and there's no charge for support for virus, spyware, or
problems related to security patches. If you are elsewhere in the world,
call the nearest number for paid Microsoft support. The call may not be
toll-free, but the support will be free.

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this
machine (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?

At a guess, could it be an Office update that is causing the problem?
Yous tate you do not have a CD for Windows but perhaps you have a CD for
Office. You could try a repair install of Office or just put the office CD
in the installation drive.
