Security Updates finally downloaded but now failing installation

Finally seem to have sorted out my windows updating problems following the
various suggestions posted on here. thanks
Downloaded 5 updates but only 1 installed correctly, these 4 keep failing
installation. Now idea of why they fail the install the window just says
installation failed. Great help!!
Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB933666)
Security Update for Word 2003 (KB934181)
Security Update for Office 2003 (KB934180)
Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB934708)

Any ideas for this next windows problem?

I checked in the update history and the error code for the 4 updates that
failed is
Error Code: 0x80070643.
Maybe that helps

Office updates mainly fail because of registry cleaners - have you used one lately?

if you used a registry cleaner, restore the deleted registry entries from the back up.

Office 2003 Update fails to install with error 0x80070643

You receive error 0x80070643 when you are installing Office 2003 Updates. Updates fail to
install because ose service is disabled or cannot be started. Applicable Office versions:
Office 2003

If you've recently used a registry cleaner then follow Peter Foldes Advice:-

Use the following fix below. Please post back with result

1st Rename Office subkeys

Note: Removing the following registry keys may reset customized user
settings for your Microsoft Office programs.

1. Close all the applications.
2. Click on Start->Run, type in REGEDIT and click on OK.
3. Locate and select the following registry subkeys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0

4. Right click on 11.0 and rename them to Old11.
5. Close the Registry Editor.

2nd. Detect and Repair Office 2003

1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Change/Remove Programs on the left pane.
4. Highlight Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 on the right pane and click
Change.
5. Insert the correct version of CD when it requires.
6. Select "Reinstall and Repair" and click Next.
7. Select "Detect and Repair errors in my Office installation".
8. Click Install and wait the process to end.
