Hello All,
I have read all the responses to various troubles with the .net
framework, IE: updating failing and various ways to 'repair' it.
My machine shows that there are no less than 3 versions on the HD, a
version 1.1; a version 1.1 Hotfix; and version 2.0.
The latest 2 auto updates KB922770 and KB917283 both failed to install
after over 20 minutes of waiting! I get no error codes it just says "
installing updates" and it stalls without the progress bar even moving
one segment.
Searching the KB I get answers that tell me to remove .NET with the
ADD/REMOVE programs. I tried this and it fails, I have not yet run the
'cleanup' program found at:
http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archi...30/611355.aspx
I don't even know why I have these program(s) on my machine, I'm
guessing some other program needs it to control the runtime? But 3
versions?
Should I just let it alone as it is without the security updates?
Try to un-install all of them......and is SO which version should be
taken out first? And how to do it without trashing the whole OS.
+++++++++++++++++++++ OR+++++++++++++++++++++++
Wait until some errant program makes a call for .NET and forces me to
fix it?
Thanks in advance to all who reply!
