Security updates for Windows

I have downloaded many "Security Updates" and everything goes as instructed.
When I check "my list of Security Updates" ... I read where some have failed
or
were cancelled.
HOWEVER... When checking the list in "ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS" ...
it shows they are installed.

How do I obtain the "cancelled" or "failed" Security Updates, recent and
those that
are months old ?

You can download them from the Catalog and save to be installed later.

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you want, Click the “Go To
Download Basket� link. Type in or browse to the location where you want the updates saved to and
then Click the “Download Now� button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.

I am having trouble withk b913446 and kb911961 they show as failed everytime
i try to install

You receive an "Installation Error: File not Found" or "Error 0x51F" error message when you try to
update Office 2003 programs from the Office Update Web site or the Office Download Center

You may receive error 0x51F when you try to install an Office Updates. Applicable Office versions:

Some have reported that placing the Office 2003 CD in the drive before trying to install the update
also fixes the problem.

Otherwise try repairing your installation of Office 2003

Method 1 – Open an office application, go to Help – Select Detect and Repair

or use Method 2 -

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Click the Office 2003 program that you want to repair, and then click Change.
4. In the Maintenance Mode Options dialog box, click Reinstall or Repair, and then click Next.
5. In the Reinstall or Repair Office dialog box, click Detect and Repair errors in my Office
installation, and then click Install.
6. When the repair process is finished, run the update again.

Most likely you will need to have your Office 2003 CD handy.

Hi;

I think what you are seeing is the WU/MU History list, which may show failed
or cancelled attempts using the website or via AU. This is nothing to worry
about as long as the target update eventually says that it successfully
installed.

IOW, there is no need for you to try to find/download those programs if they
now show as being installed when viewing the Add/Remove Programs list.

Hi;

There was a problem on the server for KB913446 when it first came out
yesterday (Tuesday, 14 Feb 06). The problem has now been fixed. Anyone who
tried to grab it prior to 8:30 PST (Redmond/Microsoft time) should try
again.

I recommend you manually visit the MU website and let it offer that update
and let it install. It should work just fine now. Start here:

As for the Outlook update error, not sure. If you see that offered when you
visit the MU site, select it also and see if it installs this time.
