How do I see the Administrator account when I login? I only see the
different users accounts, not the Administrator account when logging in.

Thanks.

By default, the Administrator account in Windows Vista does not require a
password, its blank. The Administrator is only accessible through Safe Mode
also. You can enable the Administrator account after installation if you did
an upgrade from Windows XP. Click Start > right click Computer > click
Manage > expand Local Users and Groups > select Users > right click the
Administrator account > click Set Password. After which, you can try logging
in.

You will have to "enable" it
Type in the "run" box
Control userpasswords2
Go to advanced, then advanced again.
Select Users/Administrators and untick "Account is disabled"
Next time you log off or restart, you will have a further login choice
- Administrator" . You should, after login, be able to see that account.
Just remember, if you actually login to the Admin account, it gives you
many open priviliges which could spoil you installation if used.

The two methods given above did not work on my Vista Home Premium
system that was not an upgrade from XP. Because it was not an upgrade,
Local Users and Accounts was not available under Manage Your
Computer. And the last screen when clicking Advanced twice after
entering "control userpasswords2" at the Run prompt was stated as not
being available under Home Basic and Home Premium.

However, the following did work:

Enter "net user administrator /active:yes" at an elevated command
prompt window. Next time you log in, the Administrator account,
(initially WITHOUT a password) will be presented with an option.

To turn it back off, substitute "no" for "yes" in the command text.

For more information see "What happened to the Administrator
account",p 437 in the book, Windows Vista Inside Out by Bott,
Siechert, and Stinson.
