See who has added you to their contact list

If you go to Tools > Options > Privacy you can choose to see who has added
you to their contact list.

I have instances of people adding me to their list, almost immediately after
I've added them to my list, but without us having exchanged messages or been
in contact for some years. Is this merely coincidence or is their a
reciprocal arrangement whereby I'm automatically added to their list when I
add them to mine?

Greetings Mike,

In the dialog that tells people that you've added them, the default option is to
automatically add them to your own list. So essentially, anyone clicking OK will get added
back to yours.
