See no Control Panel icon for Security Update or Firewall

With SP 2 loaded on this XP Home Edition I am missing these control panel
icons for configuring Updates and Firewall. Do I need to reload SP 2? Do I
first remove SP 2 and subsequent hotfixes? Thank you

Try rolling back to restore points until the icons are back,
then updating again. Doing this solved a similar problem
for me - missing items in Network and Internet Connections.
