See one's display name even after giving the a nickname?

Hi,

I think it would be nice to somehow be able to see the display name of a
contact, even if I explicitly given him/her a nickname.
What I'm saying is: it's cool that I can rename somebody (I use this to
eliminate the idiotic, lengthy and retarded names), but I still want to be
able to somehow view their actual display name. For example in a tooltip, or
a tooltip from their contact card, whatever. But now, once you rename a
contact, it stays that way everytime. If you want to know what idiocy he's
written in his name (which sometimes actually might be some useful
information), you'll have to rename him to "".

Your thoughts?

By the way, this is the same case with "View contacts by > First and last
name". I would probably use that, but not to the expense of never being able
to know their display names.

This exclusivity isn't useful.

Hello,

the only way I can think of to do that is using Messenger Plus! Live
http://www.msgpluslive.net/.
There, you can right-click the contact, and then click onto "Messenger Plus!
Features" (or something) and then -> "Contact information...", which shows
the contact's own display name.

Greetings,
