I see the same thing...

My Vista system is a on a corporate domain as well and I too get the error you see. Except my error is 8007000D (not 800700D)

My Windows Update screen (via the Control Panel) has a statement of "You received updates: Managed by your system administrator".

It seems to me that our Domain Admin has a policy or a setting in effect which is preventing me from getting updates as I wish! I might have to dis-join my system from the network and try the update and then rejoin it to our domain... but it seems a bit of a brute force and was hoping to find a better solution myself.

Thanks.

I dis-joined my Vista box from our domain and put it into a Workgroup. Then rebooted the system and was able to perform a Windows Update. 3 updates were applied.

I then joined my Vista box back to our domain.

I have to talk with our domain admin. There has to be something he/she can do that allows me to update without going through this process.

Thanks.

We also get the Code 8007000D error on Windows Vista Ultimate RTM.
The only diferrence is that we are using WSUS running from Windows Server
2003, but in a workgroup environment and not a domain.
The updates were working OK till we applied the latest updates for Windows
Server 2003.
These were:
KB923689 - MS06-078: Vulnerability in Windows Media Format could allow
remote code execution.
KB911897 - Files are corrupted on a Windows Server 2003-based computer when
you try to use the local UNC path to copy the files.
KB925454 - MS06-072: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer.
KB923694 - MS06-076: Cumulative security update for Outlook Express.

I have also seen various posts on the same error code for Windows Media
Player.
So my guess is that either KB923689 (MS06-078: Vulnerability in Windows
Media Format could allow remote code execution) or KB911897 (Files are
corrupted on a Windows Server 2003-based computer when you try to use the
local UNC path to copy the files) is the culprit.

Any one with a solution?
