I have been getting a pop-up window called "Select a Certificate" at random
times, even when running no programs. There are no certificates in the
window. I think it started after I connected a usb hard drive and did a
Windows Backup, but I don't know if this is related. I am logged in as
Administrator and there are no other accounts on the computer. Any idea how
to stop the pop-up?

I have the same problem. Today there were about 20 of them, all blank. Did
you ever get an answer to solve your problem? Thanks.

Yes, I noticed they were popping up when the computer came out of power save
mode, so I changed the power options to High Performance and haven't seen any
since.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. My Dell computer has been in power saver
Normal Mode when those Select Certificate windows poped up too. I wonder if
this is the only fix available (High Performance mode). I'll try it. Again
many thanks.

still get the same popups, this tinme there were 7 of them over a 3 hr
period. Any other thoughts I could try???? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem, It pops up when I come out of hibernation,
and it pops up every 30 minutes. ITs a poorly written dialog box in
that you can't see the whole thing. It says:
intende....
friendsl...
xpiar...

Perhaps it has something to do with Vista requiring you to have a
security certificate to change your computer's power management
settings.

I have the same issue as many of you. I was also getting this pop-up box after coming out of hibernation on my desktop pc. Today I installed my HP printer software to my new laptop. Grrrr That box was popping up every 10 minutes after while I was working. I knew it was coming from the HP Digital Imaging Monitor. I browsed the internet looking for answers and found many of you were experiencing the same annoyance as I was but with no answers. So, in a moment of frustration, I found the green icon for the Imaging Monitor in the lower right hand corner of my screen (task bar), right clicked on it and chose Close HP Digital Imaging Monitor. Another box popped with warnings that some functions may not work but I didn't care since they didn't really seem important. The Certificate Box has not popped up for hours now and there doesn't seem to be any issues with my printer either.

Hope this helps.
