Hello all,

I know the WU Agent checks the SelfUpdate directory in the WSUS server each
time it search for new updates, so I thought it would be a nice idea to edit
that directory in order to get updated periodically all my clients with the
last AU client version, but I don't know exactly what I should do.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You shouldn't. The WSUS server already provides the version of the WU Agent needed.

What are you actually trying to achieve?

Harry.

Hello Harry,

basically I would like to find a way to get all my WSUS clients updated with
the latest version of the AU client automatically, without the need to
connect them one by one to Windows Update at a certain time;
I would do that each time I know a new version of the AU client was
released.
I tried also checking the "Configure computers for Microsoft Update and
scanning prerequisites" in MBSA, but it seems that if the client scanned has
already an AU Client version compatible with WSUS, it do not search for a
new version at all.
Cheers

There isn't really anything to be gained by doing this. You only need the
latest version in order to connect to AU, and it is installed automatically when
needed.

If you really want to, you should be able to download the latest version (or at
least a recent version) from the MS website and you could then install it via
your usual software distribution methods.

Harry.
