I posted this question in 'windows vista mail' newsgroup and thought I
should post it here as well. I have tried system restore but I get an error
message it can't restore.
I have tried doing the suggested solution but that didn't work either.
Maybe someone in this newsgroup can help as I think it is not a mail
problem!

Sometimes that problem is fixed by doing the following:
Open the Default Programs applet, then click on "Set program
access and computer defaults." Click Custom, and select
Windows Mail. Click OK.

Hi, In 'send to, mail recipient' (when I right click) it opened in 'unknown
program' so I changed it to open with windows mail (it used to) in the
properties and the send to recipient disappeared. When I open the folder
by typing 'shell:sendto' in the 'run' command, it is there.
How do I get it back and opening with windows mail. I have had this problem
before but can't remember how to fix it. Thanks

If you are using Norton, disable it before attempting to do a System Restore
