sending to cell phone

I was wondering if it's possible to send pictures or a text message from my
computer to a cell phone....Anyone have any ideas??

1) you can send it to their e-mail address on their cell phone.
2) (My Fav) is to use some software and a cable to transfer it. No cost to
send that way.
