Hotel, eh? Most ISP's block smtp requests coming from outside their domain.
If you use a public access point/hotel network, you may be prevented from
sending mail. In such a circumstance your ISP may provide either...
1. a webmail site from which you can access your email and send messages
2. a "secured" smtp server requiring you to authenticate (send user
name/password) to send mail (in addition to your "normal" authentication to
receive mail.
For "2" above, you'll need to contact your ISP for setup instructions
(server name, port number, type of encryption required, if any) used to
remotely authenticate to their smtp server. The link I passed below gives
some (generic) instruction on how to set up smtp authentication.
