Sending page with hotmail

I can no longer send a page from the web. I have hotmail and MSN is my home
page. I don't understand what happened but I have downloaded whatever they
told me to do (Windows Live Mail). I get an error message that says Windows
Mail no longer supports the HTTP servers used by Hotmail etc. Otherwise I
have no problem reading and sending emails.

How do you want to send email?

If you want to make Windows Live Hotmail (web version) your default email
program, try this...
http://www.winhelponline.com/article...ows-Vista.html

If you want to use Windows Mail, where email is downloaded to your computer,
it cannot access webmail accounts. It can access POP3 and IMAP accounts,
and you can now access Hotmail accounts this way.
the required settings are here... try 587 for the Outgoing port...

However, Windows Mail is hard-coded to reject Hotmail/Live/MSN accounts.
But you can fool it by entering a fake email address (), and
then changing it to your real address ().

If you want to use the newer Windows Live Mail program, it can access your
Hotmail account via webmail or POP3.

Windows Mil vs. Windows Live Mail - make sure you are opening WLM now that
you downloaded it. The message you've posted says "Windows Mail no longer
supports . . . . ." which sounds like you're opening the wrong one on your
desktop.

You don't need either Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail to do that.
Just apply this fix:
To make Hotmail your default email service:

Operating System and what email client was in use prior to 'can no longer send a page from the web'.
- fyi...it wasn't Hotmail.
