how a sensible News/Mail client SHOULD work!

Let me NOT just keep complaining about this Micro$loth crap,
which I'm forced to use, because the Chinese wireless-modem maker
submitted to the Micro$loth monopoly policy.

I should rater describe how a proper news/Mail client SHOULD work.

The 1-man: mulinux on a floppy of years ago, impressed me, and
points to Italian design skills. He 'had most things in threes'; whereas
WLM is a garbage mess of a score of apparently random selections
in various modes.

For newsgroups, there's a heirarchy of:
sever, group, thread, article,
where the server is usually constant.

So for group, thread, article, you should be able to, mark for
fetching, next time on-line:
get next N headers, get marked articles/or-full-thread.
And the posting and fetching should be SHOWN via a list of tasks
in progress and/or completed, as WLM does SOMETIMES.

When in Mail/News mode, only the actions applicable to THAT mode
should be SHOWN, plus the switch to the alternative mode[/S in case
of eg. RSS mode also existing].

Forte-Agent did all this pre- 1995. What is wrong with the clowns at M$?

How can a modem force you to use a certain program?

Fyi...while doing that, do keep in mind the program's middle name
Windows 'Live' Mail
- WLM is first and foremost for use with other Windows 'Live' Essential
applications and Live services due to the integration (Contacts with
Messenger, Photo e-mail with Photo Gallery/SkyDrive, Hotmail using
DeltaSync, Calendar at calendar.live.com, Contacts at contacts.live.com) -
i.e. everything else is secondary, nntp on the other hand is way down the
list of priorties - if even on the list.) - Expecting change may very well
be fruitless if it doesn't impact 'Live' applications or services.
