Sent items missing messages

All my messages in my "sent items" folder are missing. The stay for a couple
of hours and then they're gone. Can anyone help?? I've changed nothing in
my setting or options - and I can't understand why this is happening.

Make sure in the upper right corner it says:
Show All Messages

View->Current View->Show All Messages

Make sure that when you are viewing the Sent Items folder its view setting
is "Show All Messages" rather than "Hide Read Messages".
