Serious Vista Error

Hi Al

I have been using Windows XP for a while, recently i tried to install
clean version of Vista. All goes well until after I enter the produc
key. It comes to a screen where i must select a drive for partitioning
However it will not let me and I really have no clue why. I recieve th
error below

-"windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria fo
installation"

Does anyone have any ideas

Thanks in advance for any hel

P.S I really am an amateur on PC's so please help with easy to follo
step by step instructions if possible :-

It sounds like it is not finding a Hard Drive.
Is yours a SATA HD?

I had the same problem. Do you have SATA and PATA drives in the same
machine? Or a raid array?
In my case it only wanted to use the SATA Raid Array. When I turned it off
Vista decided the PATA drive was ok to use after all.
