Well, after doing a bit of reading, I've learned that there's a big
difference between XP and 2003 file sharing- mainly, there is no "Simple File
Sharing" option with the server os, as there is with XP Pro.
So, I came upon a thread here:

that shows how to accomplish this - albeit at the expense of tight security.
