I think yes, what you can do is to add a new 2008 to the domain, promote
it to DC, make it DNS/GC etc. Install an additional member server with exchange
2007 and move the mailboxes to that one.
Then BEFORE removing exchange from the "bad one" and demoting it, shutdown/disconnect
the "bad server" and check with the clients that everything is working as
before. Do not forget to reconfigure DNS for the clients to the new DNS server.
