I got a harddisk of 'Dynamic' type.
Do I need to change to 'Static' in order to install on it?

My harddisk is Seagate 320GB, was using currently in my pc, system harddisk
is XP SP3.
I tried to install Win Server 2008 on this 320GB HD, so I detached my XP HD,
boot from Server 2008 dvd.
In the setup screen and selected this 320GB HD, but the screen said does not
support this harddisk as there is 1 or more dynamic partition.

I exit the setup, retached XP disk, reformat 320GB HD, but it is still a
dynamic HD, by right-click it, the option Converto to 'Basic' is disabled.

Any idea what's wrong or how do I get around that?

If you don't need any contents from this disk,

1. Boot your system from installation media

2. Choose repair

3. Open command prompt

4. Run command:

diskpart
select disk 0 (or whatever disk it is)
clean
exit

5. Reboot and continue installation.
