Using WSUS 3.0, set to download but not install updates; works very well with
server 2003, with server 2008 what usually happens:
One update installs successfully; other updates fail, most common error
noted in update history is "Error details: Code 80070718
In Event Viewer I find this:
"Windows Servicing failed to complete the process of setting package
'whichever' into Install Requested (Install requeted) state".
So I restart the server, Autoupdate pops up with "udpates available", I get
usually one more udpate installed, all the remaining fail again with this
same error. Help, please, so I can keep these servers caught up with their
updates.

Peter,

I note your redirect to WSUS group, but this problem occurs for me as well
on both "straight" windows update as well as udpates administered by WSUS, so
may I suggest that it is appropriate to this forum as well?

WS 2008 (incl 32 bit and R2) typically only install one or two updates at a
time out of many.

BTW - nothing found at WSUS about code 80070718.

cheers,

<cmd_output OS="W7 X64">
C:\>set /a c = 0x718
1816
C:\>net helpmsg %c%

Not enough quota is available to process this command.
</cmd_output>

Perhaps you should up the quota? <eg>
