Hi our SBS2003 server crashed - the server hangs on reboots at the message
'missing NTLDR"

Can the group please suggest best ways to recover from this - or does it
make sense to do a complete reinstall / fresh install of SBS. We have 10
users, many shares, printers etc.

We are looking for lease disruptive quickest wayu to get back up

Thank you

Its only closing on the Microsoft servers, it is still available via other
servers ... although sadly many will have abandoned the newsgroup as have
Microsoft.

If it were a desktop version of Windows I'd suggest a repair install. I
forget whether SBS comes with that option, but if it does then try that.

Otherwise, yes, fresh install and then a restore from your latest backup -
but only do this if you are confident in your latest backup as once you try
the fresh install route you won't be able to try any other options for
recovering your current configuration other than a restore from backup.

One simple thing to check first -- make sure the BIOS hasn't reset and
changed your boot drive (ie: make sure it is trying to boot off the correct
disk).
