i am unable to send messages and have no idea how to change server details

Who is your mail provider and or ISP?

Give us the error message generated when sending fails.

It isn't clear to me whether you know the correct information, or just a matter of
not knowing where to enter it.
For the correct settings see

Use port 587 rather than port 25 for the SMTP server.
Come back if you need more help, but be sure to post a copy of the error message.
