Server rebooted automatically after patch installation

Hello All,

I have my Windows 2003 Std servers configured to retrieve updates from
Windows Updates. Which was working fine until last night when it
applied Windows Server 2003 Hotfix KB931768, and the servers rebooted
automatically.

The patch installation worked fine, but the automatic restart is what
I am worried/disturbed about. I wasn't aware of the fact that auto-
updates feature also reboots the "server". This could be very
detrimental to any business.

Is the auto-reboot normal for patches? Or was this a fluke? How can I
disable auto-reboot for future patch updates.

Under Control Panel , Automatic Updates set the Process to download
automatically, then notify.
You will have to monitor this regularly to see updates, but unusually
Workstations and Servers all need the same Critical updates.
