server timeout

Several minutes after I successfully establish a connection with a Windows
2005 SBS R2 DC in domain X my permissions seem to expire for the entire
server. I can neither browse to the drive over the network via my Vista WS
nor access the files on it programmatically at this point. If I reboot my
Vista WS everything becomes available again (for a short while). Could this
be a timeout or a multiple connection issue. Note my machine is a member of
another domain where I have an account (domain Y) on the same segment. As
an interesting side note I never have any problem accessing any of SQL 2005
databases on domain X using the SA account from my Vista Ultimate
workstation. No one seems to have an answer.
