Server won't install waiting patches...

i have a Windows 2000, SP4, with a bunch of pathes waiting to be installed.
There is the Windows icon on the bottom right, but when I click to install,
they all fail right away.

Also, on the same server, when I go to:

http://update.microsoft.com/windowsu....aspx?ln=en-us

It prompts me to install:

Get the latest Windows Update software

When I click install now...

Windows Update is downloading and installing the updated software

but noting gets installed. Other servers went through the processed and
installed and work, but this one won't.

Any ideas?

do you have the permissions to install the updates? are you an administrator?

Yes, I have local Admin. access to this server.

how many pcs have you got setup, if you have different OS in a network and
the tab is selected that you have different OS i have seen this has caused
restrictions because of updates specific. long shot but you could test and
see.
