servic pack 2 udpdate

I have a problem downloading Microsoft service pack 2. I get a setup error
that says
"unable to read or write to the database"

Try d/loading and running the fixdb.bat file, created by Torgeir Bakken

With the many current SP1 to SP2 updates being experienced of late, have you
considered getting the free SP2 update on the CD. If you look through the
posts in this group you will see the difficulties being experienced in the
last two to three weeks.
I have not read any posts indicating the CD will not install SP2.

Every update falilure has a differtn error code..

The main error i get is [Error number: 0x8024001D]

Try this ... go to Start > Run > type in

net stop wuauserv
Click OK

Navigate to WINDOWS\Software Distribution\Download
DELETE ALL contents of the Download folder

Now go to the the WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore folder
DELETE the DataStore.edb file
(NOTE: This will remove the update history as seen on the Update sites)

Close the window
Empty the Recycle Bin
Go back to Start > Run > type in

net start wuauserv
Click OK
