Hi,

I am having major problems with my Service Pack 1 install on my PC.

Recently, out of the blue, I checked my Update History and it showed
that SP1 had failed to update since July 2008!

I did a Windows Update which installed all other updates okay but the
Service Pack update always fails.

There is no record of SP1 being on PC at present which is odd too.

Firstly, I downloaded the Readiness file and ran that okay. I then
downloaded the 455mb SP1 file but every time I try to run it i get the
error 0x800B0100.

I am desperate to try and install a new copy of Adobe Creative Suite 4
but it won't install until it knows I have Service Pack 1 present on my
PC!!

Can any one shed any light as to why my PC won't update the Service
Pack or install the 455mb SP1 file?

Vista X86 - (32)
2GB RAM, 1.73Ghz
2 year old laptop

Thanks in advance

Download and *save* AU Check (v78):
http://www.codeplex.com/aureset/Rele...eleaseId=17263

Once the download completes close all open browsers and programs.

*** TEMPORARILY disable *** the installed antivirus/security suite. That
means all associated Services and processes need to be temp disabled.
Consult the User Guide/Help file or, visit the manufacturer's web site
if you need assistance with this.
*** ENABLE the native Windows firewall *** IF a 3rd party firewall is
being temp disabled.

Now run au_check_v78_codeplex.exe with the system connected to the
net/network.
Allow the operation time to complete and then restart it.

*** REENABLE the installed security software afterwards. DISABLE the
Windows firewall if a 3rd party firewall is reenabled. ***
